11/5/08 Update - Thank you for electing me to the Osceola County Commission.  I look forward to serving you!

Message from Michael E. Harford

Hello! I'm Michael E. Harford, and thank you for stopping by. I'm running for Osceola County Commission, District 1, which includes most of West Osceola County.

At this website, you can learn about:

  • More about me, and why I'm your best choice for the Osceola County Commission
  • Why I've decided to run
  • How we can work together to ensure the best future for Osceola County, and you!

Some of the most critical issues in front of us right now include:

  • Ensuring a balanced approach to responsible growth and development. I will work for a sound, long-term plan that preserves our natural environmental resources.
  • Bringing strong leadership as an established businessman to help guide through critical budget decisions
  • Supporting an inclusive attitude to allow the diversity of Osceola County to reach its greatest potential.

More About Me

I was born in Osceola County fifty-five years ago. Like many today, my parents moved to Osceola County. I was raised in Kissimmee, and I knew I couldn't choose anywhere else to raise my family. I run a successful business that reaches across central Florida. I see a promising future for this beautiful county, and I'll do my best to bring this future to us.  Read more about me.

Why I Have Decided To Run

Over the past several years, I've seen the priorities of the County Commission change. It is disheartening to see how disconnected their priorities are from the needs of residents. Instead of bringing responsible leadership representing people like you, they are instead focusing on large developers and special interest groups. This has, unfortunately, left all of us - and our needs as residents - ignored. I am committed to changing this, and bringing the resident's priorities back to the Commission.

During my campaign for you, I have made a personal commitment to limit contributions to no more than $100. Although this puts me at a disadvantage, it means that I can return the Commission to the residents of the County and not to the large developers and special interest groups currently controlling it.  I will bring transparency and leadership to the residents of our county, something that does not exist today.  Read more about the issues.

How We Will Embark On This Journey Together

Osceola County continues to face unprecedented growth. As residents, we need visionary, forward-thinking leaders who are committed to working with the Kissimmee Commission, St. Cloud Council, and School Board members. Local government must plan together for the future growth and development of our home.

I am that type of leader, and with your help and support, we can bring the Osceola County Commission back into your hands. Together we can reconnect the Commission with your priorities, and your needs. The Commission will again work for you, not big business.

Feel free to sign up to join our efforts or contact me with your ideas, questions, or concerns. We are quickly building a winning campaign, and I would love to have you on our team.

Thanks again for your interest in my campaign. I will continue to update this website with more news and information, so check back often!
